Forecast Calls For A Great Golf Season Ahead

January 29, 2020

Banff, Alberta, January 29, 2020 – Though summer may seem forever away, the professional teams at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ celebrated western Canadian golf properties in Banff, Jasper, and Whistler are forecasting one of their best golf seasons in years.

The winter preparations went very well at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Banff Springs, and Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Now, the famed resorts are beginning the long, careful process of readying their world-class operations to welcome back eager golf guests as soon as weather permits. Aiding in the process, the properties are riding a crest of surging enthusiasm among international golf industry experts.

In fact, the famed Stanley Thompson-designed golf courses of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club and Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course enjoyed a meteoritic rise on Golf Digest’s recently published list of the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Jasper’s golf course rose to No. 58 on the prestigious world rankings (up from No. 89 on the previous list) and Banff’s golf course went to No. 87 from No. 99. Additionally, all three properties – Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Banff Springs and Fairmont Chateau Whistler – were named among the Top 100 Resorts in North America on GOLF Magazine’s 2019/2020 list.

“Last season turned out to be a banner year for all of Fairmont’s western mountain golf properties in Canada,” said Steven Young, Director of Golf at Fairmont Banff Springs. “With the wonderful recognition our courses and golf teams have recently enjoyed, we are all anticipating an even more outstanding golf season for 2020. It’s tremendously exciting to be a part of this.”

As if golfers need more motivation to make Fairmont part of their summer travel plans, all three resorts recently unveiled new golf vacation packages and programs.

Among Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s offerings is an outstanding Midweek Golf for Free Package that provides overnight accommodations and two rounds of golf per room, per stay with rates starting as low as $429 CAD per person, based on double occupancy.  Other packages and programs also are available.

Fairmont Banff Springs is featuring it’s Banff Golf Vacation which includes overnight accommodation in a luxury room, one round of golf for two adults on the Stanley Thompson Golf Course, complimentary club storage, shuttle and self-parking with rates starting at $859 CAD.

And, those seeking quality golf and terrific value will definitely want to investigate Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s 3-Course Golf Vacation package. This package provides accommodation for two nights and golf for two adults at the guest’s choice of three fantastic Whistler golf courses. Guests may choose to play rounds at Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Nicklaus North Golf Course, Whistler Golf Club or Big Sky Golf Club during their stay. Rates for this package start at $293 CAD per person, double occupancy.
